Getting started
Is Moneyclub free to use?
Yes. Downloading the app, using Moneyclub on the web, and starting, joining and running clubs and goals are all free. A few ways of moving money carry a fee, such as an instant payout to your bank, and every fee is shown before you confirm. See Fees & earnings for the detail.
Fees & earningsHow do I start a club?
Pick a club type, set your target, contribution and payout date, then invite your members by link, WhatsApp or QR code. Each member accepts the club’s rules when they join.
Stokvel constitutionDo all members need the app?
Every member needs their own Moneyclub profile, so they can see the club feed and accept the rules. They can use the app on iPhone, Android or Huawei, or Moneyclub on the web — whichever suits them.
What do I need to sign up?
A South African phone number, your ID and a selfie. We verify every member before money moves, so everyone knows who’s in their club.
Which club type should I choose?
One shared pot that pays out on a date is a Savings Club. Taking turns with the pot is a rotating stokvel. Many people giving to one person is a Goal Fund, and a one-off collection for a gift or cause is a Group Gift. Saving alone is a Goal Save, and any of these can be done the Shari’ah way. Our guide “Rotating, grocery or goal” walks through it.

What is a stokvel or savings club?
A group of people who save together toward a shared or rotating goal. Moneyclub keeps the contributions, the rules and the payouts in one place, so nobody has to keep a cash book.
Can I bring my existing stokvel?
Yes. Bring your members, your contribution amount and your payout plan. Once you’re on Moneyclub, the club runs under the Moneyclub Stokvel Constitution and the rules your members accept when they join, and the money and the record move into the app where everyone can see them.
Who runs the club?
The member who starts the club is its admin. If they want to leave, they hand admin over to another member first, so a club is never left without someone in charge.
What happens if someone doesn’t pay?
Everyone can see who has paid and who hasn’t, live, on the club feed. There’s no quiet missed month and no need to chase anyone in a WhatsApp group.
What happens if someone leaves early?
A member withdraws their own balance before they leave, according to the club’s rules. If they’re the only admin, they hand admin over to someone else first.
How does a rotating stokvel decide whose turn it is?
The order is set when the club is created, and every member accepts it when they join. Each turn then pays out automatically to the next member in that order.
Can I pull out of a group gift?
When the organiser closes a group gift, there can be a window to pull out. If you step back then, your share comes back to you in full.
Paying in and cashing out
How do I pay into my club or goal?
By EFT, by card, or straight from your Moneyclub Pocket. If your employer partners with Floatpays, you can also pay in from wages you’ve already earned.
Do you use debit orders?
No. You choose when to pay in, and the whole club sees it land the moment you do.
What is the Moneyclub Pocket?
Your own wallet inside Moneyclub. Payouts can land there, you can pay into clubs and goals from it, and you can withdraw it to your bank whenever you like.
How do I get my money out?
Cash out to your Pocket, or to your bank. Instant payouts arrive in minutes and carry a fee. Standard EFT takes 1–2 business days. You see any fee before you confirm. Shari’ah savings always pay out by standard EFT.
Fees & earningsCan I withdraw from a Goal Save at any time?
If it’s unlocked, yes. If you locked it until its date or its target, the money stays put until then — that’s the point of the lock.
Earnings and rewards
Does my money earn anything?
Yes. Savings Club and Goal Save earn interest. Rotating stokvels, goal funds and group gifts earn monthly cashback. Shari’ah products earn a profit share, never interest. Current rates show in the app before you start.
Fees & earningsHow does cashback work?
Cashback is paid every month into your rewards pocket, showing the club and month it came from. You can move it into a savings pocket to keep it growing, or withdraw it to your bank.
How do referrals work?
Share your referral code from the app. When a friend signs up and makes their first deposit, you earn a bonus. The app shows what you could earn and the referral terms.
RewardsIs the Shari’ah option really interest-free?
Yes. Shari’ah savings sit in a Shari’ah-compliant product certified by our banking partner’s Shari’ah Advisory Committee, kept apart from interest-bearing money. They earn a profit share instead of interest.
Shari’ah club & goalMoney and safety
Where does the money actually sit?
With a regulated South African bank, in accounts Floatpays administers on your behalf — never in an organiser’s or treasurer’s personal account.
Trust & SecurityWho is behind Moneyclub?
Floatpays (Pty) Ltd, an authorised financial services provider (FSP 52120) and registered credit provider (NCRCP 16757).
Who can move the money?
Money only moves the way the club’s rules say. Members accept the rules when they join, and every contribution and payout shows on the club feed. No single person can redirect the pot.
Is my money and my data safe?
Every member is ID-verified, your data is encrypted, and the selfie used to verify you isn’t stored on our servers. The app also locks itself after five minutes without use.
Trust & SecurityHow do I make a complaint?
WhatsApp us first — a real person will help. If we can’t resolve it, our complaints management framework sets out how we handle formal complaints, and you can take it further to the FAIS Ombud.
