Where it sits

Never in anyone’s personal account.

Held with a regulated bank

Club and goal money is held with a regulated South African bank, in accounts Floatpays administers on your behalf. It never passes through an organiser’s or treasurer’s own account.

Shari’ah money stays separate

Shari’ah savings sit in a Shari’ah-compliant product certified by our banking partner’s Shari’ah Advisory Committee, kept apart from interest-bearing money. They earn a profit share, never interest.

Your Moneyclub Pocket

Your Pocket is your own wallet inside Moneyclub. Payouts can land there, you can pay into clubs from it, and you can withdraw it to your bank whenever you like.
Who can move it

Money only moves the way the rules say.

Every club runs under the Moneyclub Stokvel Constitution and the rules its members accept when they join.

  1. 01

    Everyone signs the rules

When you join a club you accept its rules: how much, how often, and where the payout goes. They’re the same for every member.

  2. 02

Every rand is on the feed

Each contribution, payout and change shows on the club feed, live, for every member. There is no separate book.

  3. 03

    Payouts follow the rules

A savings club shares out on its date. A rotating stokvel pays in the signed order. A goal fund pays its agreed recipient. Nobody can redirect the pot.

  4. 04

    You decide where it goes

Rotating turns, goal funds and group gifts pay into the recipient’s Moneyclub Pocket. Savings club members cash out their share to their Pocket or their bank.

How we protect you

Verified people, protected data.

Every member is verified

Members confirm who they are with their ID and a selfie before money moves, so you always know who’s in your club.

Face data isn’t kept

The selfie is used only to verify you. We don’t store face images or biometric data on our servers. See the privacy policy.

Your data is encrypted

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and handled under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act.

Locks when you step away

The app locks itself after five minutes without use, so an unlocked phone doesn’t mean an open account.
If something goes wrong

A real person, and a clear way to complain.

Talk to us first

WhatsApp the Moneyclub team and a real person will reply. If we can’t resolve it, our complaints management framework sets out exactly how we handle a formal complaint and how quickly.

The FAIS Ombud

If you’re not satisfied with how we resolved your complaint, you can take it to the FAIS Ombud: 012 762 5000, info@faisombud.co.za or www.faisombud.co.za.
